Miss Universe 2016
Over the weekend, I was so fortunate to have been able to travel to Las Vegas to watch the Miss Universe pageant and see girls from all over the world represent their countries. First of all, I'm so proud of Olivia, our amazing Miss USA!! She handled herself with such grace and elegance on stage and represented our country beautifully! With the craziness of how the pageant ended, I can honestly say either of the girls would have made a wonderful Miss Universe. They both handled themselves like true queens and dealt with the issue the right way. Steve Harvey did a fabulous job throughout the night and it was an honest mistake! I'm so excited for Pia and her reign as Miss Universe, congrats again to all the girls!

A trip to Dallas
A few weeks ago I traveled to Dallas, one of my favorite places ever, to shoot with one of my favorite photographers, Kirstie Marie. I was so excited for this shoot because of the location, we shot at an abandoned quarry that has its own famous hashtag trending on Instagram, #thatdallasquarry. The water was so blue and scenery was absolutely breathtaking! I'm so thrilled with the images we captured! Check out my Facebook page and Instagram @abbyfloyd_ for more from this shoot!

Dillard's VIP Night
Last night I attended the Dillards VIP night for cardholders in Rogers. It was such a fun night socializing with people in Arkansas and supporting such a great cause. I'm so excited that Dillard's is making a donation with the proceeds to St. Jude children's hospital in my name. St. Jude's is a research hospital for children and does amazing things for great people. Huge thank you to everyone who came out! Happy Holidays!

Miss Kansas USA weekend!
This past weekend I traveled to Mulvane, Kansas to watch my new Vanbros sisters take the title! I love watching so many girls take part in the pageant experience knowing the courage it takes to be on stage and the hard work they put into it. Pageants teach girls self confidence, interview skills, and bring together young woman to build friendships that last a lifetime. So many people think pageants are just sparkly dresses and tons of make up and big hair, but they are so much more. I have truly grown so much through competing and it's an amazing feeling watching other girls do the same. So to all the girls who competed this weekend, congratulations, be proud of yourself and know that you got to what so many wish they could. To the new title holders, get ready for the most incredible journey that awaits and take in every moment! I can't wait to spend they year with you guys!

Woo Pig!
Growing up in Arkansas it just comes natural to be a Razorback fan! Last night I got to experience one of the coolest appearances by going on the field during the game to be recognized and call the hogs! We battled the cold, and unfortunately had a 1 point loss but I'll never forget that night! Thank you so much to the ones who made this possible! Go hogs!

The first week with the crown!
Wow! What an amazing week! On November 1st, 2015, my life was forever changed and all my dreams had become a reality. My family and friends have been such a blessing throughout this process. The love and support that has been poured out to me this week has me so humbled and grateful, I can't even explain how much it means to me to hear the kind words. There are so many people who helped me accomplish this goal of mine and I'm so grateful they came into my life! So many have asked what the "next step" is, and here's whats on the agenda. My duty for the year is to represent Arkansas to the best of my ability and be a positive role model for the younger generation. My platform is American Association of Cancer Research, which is personally so important to me. I'm passionate about this organization because I not only lost both of my grandmothers to cancer, but my dad is a cancer survivor. This cause strives to prevent and cure cancer through research, education, and communication. Therefore, my goal is to raise awareness for Breast and Ovarian Cancer to honor my grandmother and influence others to be proactive in their health. I will also be making appearance throughout the state and preparing for the national pageant - Miss USA!!
The best is yet to come to, but this journey is going to be life changing!
